narcissism in Christianity

An old monastery in perishes every day. They are not attracting new young persons; there is nothing live and interesting. One day a traveller visited them and told them that one among you is Christ. There is a silence and every one shocked. Each one starts to think that he may be the Christ. So they checked themselves, whether their life worth a life of Christ. That starts to change their behavior and life. If I am the Christ my life must of that quality. That changed everything, the monastery become very warm and welcome. It started to attract the neighbors and the village.

We need self-esteem to give respect others. That is why the Carpenter told the world, ‘Love your neighbors as yourself’. He didn’t say you have to forget yourself while loving others. So the charity starts in self. Even the evangelization is nothing but tell others what you feel yourself. Samaritan girl preached the simple gospel she experienced herself. When she starts to love herself, she gets strengthened to face the community, the entire village. This is not narcissism. Narcissus love was egotistic admiration.

But it is important that we must find value in self. “Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.  “But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matthew 10:29. So our value is high while we pray before Him, play before Him, love each other before Him. The teacher asked them: who needs this currency? Everyone responded, they need the bill. Then the teacher put the currency down on the floor and stands on it and asked the same question. The students where still interested as it is still a currency. The teacher put the bill in a garbage bin and asked the same question, but still the students responded the same. So even if our life in mud, in torments our life is worthy. The beauty is the beauty of soul; we have to love that beauty. So find the self-beauty and love the self-beauty is the first step in Christianity.

Once a child lost her mother on the way. People start to help them asking what his mother look like. He told them her mother is extremely beautiful. But within a few moments his mother arrived their looking for her child. But for the people she was the ugliest woman in the village.

“Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see, for I say to you, that many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you see, and did not see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and did not hear them.” Luke 10:24. Admiring self is essential.

As I began to love myself I understood how much it can offend somebody
As I try to force my desires on this person, even though I knew the time
was not right and the person was not ready for it, and even though this
person was me. Today I call it “RESPECT”.
As I began to love myself I stopped craving for a different life,
and I could see that everything that surrounded me was inviting me to grow.
Today I call it “MATURITY”.
We no longer need to fear arguments, confrontations or any kind of problems with ourselves or others.
Even stars collide, and out of their crashing
new worlds are born. Today I know THAT IS “LIFE”! .
